Description
Sofosbuvir is a direct-acting antiviral medicine used in combination with other antiviral medicines to treat chronic Hepatitis C, an infectious hepatic disease caused as a result of infection by Hepatitis C Virus (HCV). It is also recommended in cases of hepatitis C and liver cancer who are about to get a liver transplant. Sofosbuvir reduces the chances of infection recurrence following the transplant.
How To Use
- Sofosbuvir is available as a tablet that is taken orally.
- It’s taken once a day, with or without food.
- Sofosbuvir should be taken at the same time each day.
- Swallow the tablet with water.
Side Effects
Some patients taking this medicine may experience blood dyscrasias (blood disorders), anorexia, weight loss, insomnia, depression, anxiety, agitation, headache, dizziness, migraine, attention disturbances, blurred vision, cough, stomach upset or rash.
