This medicine is used to treat long term active hepatitis B in patients positive for HBV-DNA. This medicine is used in combination with trabavirin.

Warnings
Research suggests that this medicine should be avoided by pregnant women.
This medicine is not recommended for women who are breastfeeding.

Contraindications
It is not recommended in severe renal (kidney), hepatic (liver) or myeloid (white blood cells or platelets) dysfunction, seizures or nervous system impairment.
